Giovanna d'Arco, Verdi's considerably revised retelling of the Joan of Arc legend gets a middle of the road performance in this Teatro Regio di Parma staging. The principals are somewhat disappointing, the main bright spot being maestro Bruno Bartoletti's management of this terrific score.
