An enjoyable film adaptation of a delightful musical, Hello, Dolly! will appeal to a broad audience of new viewers. Successful film adaptations of Broadway shows often stumble, but with the vocals of Barbra Streisand, the crustiness of Walter Matthau, and the knowing hand of director Gene Kelly this one is sure-footed.
