Vampire Diaries: The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray in August

Get ready to catch VD on home video this summer when Warner releases The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Second Season to Blu-ray and DVD on August 30, 2011. The studio has just announced the details on the forthcoming home video release of the hit CW Network series. The Blu-ray will sell at an SRP of $69.97 SRP and the DVD will have an SRP of $59.98. The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Second Season contains 22 one-hour episodes plus over an hour of bonus features, including three brand-new featurettes, deleted scenes, a gag reel, and creators’ commentaries.

The Blu-ray set features a 1.78:1 1080p high definition transfer with English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, according to Warner, which would be highly unusual for a Warner TV-on-Blu-ray release as they usual come with Dolby Digital. It will also include English SDH, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish subtitles.
