Free Wizard of Oz Instant Stream on Samsung and LG Blu-ray Players

Netflix, the world’s largest internet movie rental service, today announced that they will be offering a free high definition stream of The Wizard of Oz on Netflix equipped Samsung and LG Blu-ray Disc players October 3, 2009 to celebrate the release of Warner’s 70th Anniversary Ultimate Edition of The Wizard of Oz on Blu-ray Disc.

Additionally, the free stream will be available to anyone with a Netflix-enabled television device such as a Roku digital video player, XBox 360 or Tivo digital video recorders. Anyone without a Netflix device can also watch the free, commercially uninterrupted stream from the internet on a computer at Netflix.com/wizardofoz.

The stream can be watched free for 24 hours starting at 9:00 A.M. Eastern Time October 3 until 9:00 A.M. the following day.

The 70th Anniversary Ultimate Edition of The Wizard of Oz on Blu-ray Disc and DVD will be released by Warner on September 29, 2009 and will be heralded by a free live concert and movie screening in New York City’s Central Park featuring interpretations of the film’s classic songs by Jennifer Hudson, Julianne Hough, and The Roots.
