Olive Media Inc. has announced the introduction of an innovative digital music player, the Olive ONE. This single box solution looks like a larger version of a compact disc (9” diameter and 1.6” height). The Olive ONE will play music files of most current resolutions including FLAC, WAV, ALAC, AIFF, MP3s and iTunes tracks and can access popular streaming services like Spotify, Pandora, and YouTube. Playback is enabled from a touchscreen or an iPhone, iPad or Android devices. Using its proprietary ONE Music Operating System, and open source foundation, the Olive ONE is capable of future development as new music apps come along. Multiple Olive ONEs can be linked throughout the home for listening to the same or different programs.
The Olive ONE’s chassis houses potent and sophisticated firmware and software. The HD DAC is a state-of-the-art Burr-Brown PCM512 with 384kHz/32 bit capability and dynamic range of 112 dB. The dual HD amplifiers generate 32 watts per channel. Audio is output through analog connections or digital routes (Wi-Fi (Direct/Miracast/DLNA) or Bluetooth 4.0 options). AV or solid-state drives with storage capacities ranging from 500 GB to 2 TB can be added. Olive will offer a free home Cloud service to provide access to music in resolutions up to 192 kHz/24-bit from any location.
