“You’re No Good”

Stakes are higher this season, the vampire’s are now at the human’s mercy thanks to all of the secret experiment’s the governor has authorized. The UV light bullets and contacts that ward off a vamp’s “glamour” are great new additions. It’s nice to see the human’s taking some control despite the obvious abuse of power, which some might say mirrors recent real world current events. In this way, True Blood’s latest season is already heaps more interesting than the last.

Times have changed in Bon Temps. I miss the vamp love triangle between Bill, Sookie and Eric. Those were the good old days. Still plenty of love relationships developing, in the most recent episode there is a lot of potential brewing, Sam & Nicole, Eric & Willa (could be interesting she is after all the governor’s daughter), and Sookie & Ben (though I somehow doubt this will go well, Sookie’s relationships never do).

Speaking of Sookie’s soured relationships, even though Bill declared Sookie “dead” to him, I secretly hope he’s the vamp that will come rescue her from the menacing yet to be seen Warlow.  With Bill’s new Lillith infused powers he may be the only one powerful enough for the job.  If he’s not too distracted with saving the vampire race from genocide.

I am not thrilled with the werewolves. Surprised to see them turning into villains under Alcide’s new leadership. Becoming pack master should have had better consequences.  Stealing little Emma and beating Sam over it was a new low.

Pam was always one of my favorite characters, she was a woman with balls. Somehow that seems lost this season, no longer the self assertive in your face gal, she’s become Eric’s lost puppy. Eager for what little affection he has, Pam’s trapped in the amber of his love. I’m curious to see more of the Pam and Tara relationship develop. They’re both strong headed fiery characters, serious firework potential here.

Happy to see that the fairy element is no longer dominating, there is just enough of it to be interesting without becoming boring (as it did last season).  Andy now has four rapidly growing fairy daughters. Other than being bait for Bill’s new scheme for brewing a special batch of Tru-Blood, it will be interesting to see how these daughters play out.

Sookie the halfling is on the verge of becoming an ordinary girl should she be forced to use her super fairy blast. Her fairy grandfather has taught her how to amplify what little power she has left, with some practice, Sookie should be able to conjure up a blast powerful enough to compete with the sun and hopefully blast Warlow right out of her life. We all know Sookie’s impulsive and the chances of her conserving her power until the right time are slim. Will the writers really allow Sookie to become a normal girl? Hard to believe. “You’re No Good” was another strong episode for Season 6, and it has me eager to tune into next week’s offering.
